Founded in 1993, NIES Engineering, Inc. is wholly owned by its six Principal / Owners. The two senior Owners of the firm are John Phipps, P.E. and Terrence Hodnik, P.E.   In January, 2001 Howard Jones became a Principal and administrative partner. In 2008 Neil Simstad and Joe Peters became partners of the firm. Chris Moore and Derek Snyder became partners in 2013 and 2016 respectively.

As with any engineering firm, NIES Engineering's most important asset is our staff of highly qualified engineers and technicians.  The two senior principals of the firm, John Phipps and Terrence Hodnik, have over seventy years of professional engineering experience between them.  Overall, our staff includes seven registered professional engineers licensed in a total of four states.  We have two  registered Land Surveyors on staff and maintain surveying capabilities to ensure the efficient relay of data from the field to final design.  Additionally, we at NIES Engineering are committed to continuing education and training of our staff.  This allows us to provide the most modern and efficient design, drafting and modeling services to our clients.
