Booster Pumping Station Modifications - Bourbonnais, IL

As part of an aggressive distribution system upgrade project, Consumers Illinois Water Company chose to increase the capacity of the Bradley / Bourbonnais Booster Pumping Station.

This pumping station provides a critical link to the high pressure zone serving the Villages of Bradley and Bourbonnais. As such, modifications had to be made while the station remained on-line. Disruptions in service had to be minimized.

NIES Engineering provided design engineering services as part of a design-build team for this fast track project. By utilizing the existing building and a significant portion of the existing piping, construction costs and down time were held to a minimum. The project included replacement of two booster pumps with three larger centrifugal pumps, improved metering, reconfigured piping and structural modifications. Additionally, this project involved electrical system improvements including the addition of two new VFD's for the booster pumps.

By working closely with the owner and other members of the design build team, NIES Engineering helped ensure the success of this project and the continued reliable delivery of water to CIWC's customers.
